Much thanx to JM at tiny grooves, who allowed SEX TIDE to bust him up pretty bad!

Bloodied, he opines: “…their debut platter is chock full of scuzzed out mutant guitars strangling each other, blown out riffs exploding over the trashy menacing rhythms, all of it teetering on the edge of completely falling apart into a wall of feedback and madness…..just like all those long forgotten heros of the underbelly of rock… so exactly the kinda noisy, garage punk that will always find a home on my turntable, even when most think it just belongs in the gutter…..

fans of deliquent noisy RnR from OBNOX, UNHOLY TWO, COUNTER INTUITS, PAMPERS, GINO & THE GOONS, TRUE SONS OF THUNDER and other like minded bands, NEED TO CHECK OUT SEX TIDE NOW……”

A full accounting is here.

If I said “female-fronted Cheater Slicks” to you, what would you do? Buy this record? This new-ish Ohio trio doesn’t have the vocabulary of the Slicks, but that was something learned and earned over the years, through turns and burns and occasional yearns. Sex Tide at least cuts up on the…

SEX TIDE is such a good band omfg cant wait to pick up their LP i have not heard it yet but i have great demos. The first time we played in Columbus we played with them and Daniele and I were standing at the front of the stage with our arms out like almost crying/disrupting the show we were so psyched on them. I’m pretty sure we were screaming something like “IS YOUR BAND EVEN REAL” and “WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON” over and over and everyone was a little weirded out, it’s like we were compliment-heckling them

Anyway, we will pass along this message — that Eugene firehouse show was one of my favs

This is just the kind of irrational exuberance we expected the SEX TIDE record to cause. PRIESTS know! PRIESTS are super 666 - catch their fever at Sister Polygon Records

Thanks to dynamitehemorrhage for appreciatin’ SEX TIDE and for pimping all the great music 2013 has to offer. We wish this guy would do a zine again.

YOU’VE GOT THE RUNAROUND -Dynamite Hemorrhage’s Best of 2013

I made an online mixtape over at 8tracks of 28 of my favorite things that came out in 2013. If you’ve listened at all to the podcast we put together every couple of weeks, there’s a pretty good chance you’ve heard many of these righteous tunes, but you might wish to hear them again, right?

I think it’s fair to say that it was a “good year” for music, as years go. This mix is ample proof.

Sex Tide- FLASH FUCK (A WICKED COMPANY) Don’t think that I don’t know what the word on the street is, oh yeah I know, “Hinely’s gotten soft.” I know you’re all sayin’ it. Oh sure, I’d rather listen to The Field Mice than the God Bullies these days and who can blame me (my ears took quite a…

SEX TIDE, live in New York City this past weekend. Now you know why we like ‘em so much around here.

It seems Jay has succumbed to the wanton seduction of SEX TIDE. YOU ARE NEXT.

dynamitehemorrhage:

The awesome SEX TIDE from Columbus, OH - whose new record I can’t stop playing repeatedly, and at top volume. All 20-something jarring, dissonant, swampy minutes of it.
